The v1.4 release was about two things: making the shopping list smarter, and giving you full control over how MealGrid looks.
The Master Ingredient List
Before v1.4, ingredients only existed inside recipes. Now they have a home of their own: the Master Ingredient List. Every ingredient you use across your entire cookbook lives here, with a category (Produce, Meat, Dairy, Pantry Staple, and anything else you define), optional notes, and a count of how many recipes use it.
When you save a recipe, any new ingredient is automatically added to the master list. No manual step needed. And because ingredients have categories now, the shopping list can group items together — all your Produce in one section, all your Meat in another.
A Public Shopping List
The shopping list got its own public-facing page in v1.4. Enable it in Settings and your household can access the live shopping list from any device — no login required. Check off items as you shop, reset when you're done, and watch the progress bar fill up as the basket fills.
It sounds simple, but it solves a very real problem: the person doing the shopping doesn't need an account to see what's needed.
Colours You Can Call Your Own
Settings → Theme Colours now controls the sidebar, the topbar, and each individual calendar chip type. Five chip colours, each independently adjustable. The system uses CSS color-mix() to derive matching background and border tones automatically — so one colour pick gives you a perfectly balanced chip.
